In this movie rebrand, I created a poster, thumbnail pack for streaming services and advertisements, and a new animated title sequence for the 2021 movie The Green Knight. I chose to take an illustrative route as a nod to illuminated manuscripts, and spent time on careful details to capture the particularly thoughtful and introspective flavor of fantasy that the movie creates.
Poster
My poster design plays with the parallels between the final fates of Gawain and the Green Knight, and also emulates the design of a playing card as an allusion to the "Christmas game" that binds their fates together.
Thumbnail Pack
The multichannel pack consists of several small compositions to be used as thumbnails for the movie on streaming services. It also includes a screensaver ad animation, which plays when the viewer pauses what they are currently watching.
Animated Title Sequence
Finally, I animated a new opening credits sequence for the beginning of the movie. This was done in After Effects using assets drawn in Procreate.
